Tell us a little bit about yourself (i.e. where are you from, where’d you go to school, what you do for a living, etc.)
I grew up in my hometown of East Liverpool, Ohio and graduated from East Liverpool High School. After graduation, I attended Youngstown State University where I majored in Marketing and Public Relations, with a minor in Communications.

While in college, I worked for a local community action agency helping people who were facing disconnection with their utility bills. I then went on to be a Family Service Worker with the agency's Head Start program where he connected students and their families with the services and resources they needed to lift themselves out of poverty.

I now live in Prairie Township and have been a "Westsider" for nearly a decade. I choose this area where to raise my family because I believe in our community and our schools.

I am the proud father of a Westland High School senior and support the Athletic Boosters, PTA/PTSA, Band Boosters and as Vice President of the Westland Vocal Music Boosters program.

As Public Affairs Director for SEIU District 1199 WV/KY/OH, I have an accomplished track record of bringing people together from all political backgrounds both at the Ohio Statehouse and in Washington, focusing on issues of poverty, healthcare and public policy that improves the lives of working people and their families.

Why are you running for this office?
I am running for the South-Western City School District Board of Education because I believe every student in our community has the right to quality, public education without exception.

As an active parent and community leader, I believe that together we can build a better future for our families and our community by ensuring all students are respected, valued and given the tools and resources they need to thrive.

What are the most important issues on your campaign?
Invest in good schools and stronger communities. I will work with our parents, community leaders and taxpayers to continue our investment in our South-Western City School District so our students have modern, safe and accessible schools and facilities our neighborhoods can be proud of and will encourage economic development and job creation in our community.

Increase parent & community involvement. I will work to promote every opportunity for our parents and families to be involved in the lives of their students and expand our partnership with community and business leaders to inspire students to be more active in their school and our neighborhoods.

Listen & offer solutions for parents & students. People in our community deserve to have their voices heard on issues that impact our school district and our community as a whole. I committed to listening to the concerns of our parents, students, school employees and taxpayers and advocating for goals and values reflective of the community.

Give us a fun fact about yourself.
I am a huge logistics nerd when it comes to political and government events. I’ve had the opportunity to see behind the curtain for major events like rallies and presidential motorcades and I just can’t get enough. I’ve been in the shadow of Air Force One, but my dream is to one day have the opportunity to step inside.

What’s your favorite thing about Ohio?
This is tough because I love so much about Ohio, especially our people and our traditions. But my favorite thing about Ohio is the fall. I love seeing the leaves change and cool, crisp air that blows in from sleeping with the windows open. And it is a perfect time of year because it combines two of my favorite professional sports: football and politics.

Which team is your favorite sports team? If there’s a fun reason why, tell us!
The Ohio State Buckeyes! How can you live in central Ohio and not appreciate the tradition and excitement that you experience on game day? I’m looking forward to my daughter starting at OSU next fall and I will encourage her to get active in the OSU College Dems.

If you were a professional athlete what song would you choose to be your “walk out” song?
"City of Blinding Lights" by U2

What TV show have you binge watched entirely too fast?
I was a huge House of Cards fan, but we all know what happened there. Then, I got hooked on Scandal. But now I mostly look for stand-up comedy specials with political satire.
