Tell us a little bit about yourself (i.e. where are you from, where’d you go to school, what you do for a living, etc.)
I grew up in a rural area of Northwest Ohio near Toledo. I attended Ohio University for undergrad and received my law degree from the University of Toledo. Outside of serving on City Council I am the Chief Legal Counsel for ACT Ohio, a labor affiliated non-profit that works with Building Trades unions from across Ohio.

Why are you running for this office?
Columbus is a growing city. We recently became the 14th largest city in the Untied States. While that growth has provided economic opportunity for many, it has not been as equally shared across our neighborhoods. I have spent my entire legal career working on behalf of workers seeking to make a decent living for their families. Therefore, I believe I bring a critical skillset that is needed for helping to foster progressive growth that puts working families first.

What are the most important issues on your campaign?
Columbus is at a watershed moment. As we’ve grown decisions relating creating transportation infrastructure, affordable housing, and the creating of living wage career opportunities are front and center during this campaign. We need to get these decisions right to ensure that Columbus continues to grow, but just as importantly our city continues to be a place that a middle-class family can afford to call home.

Give us a fun fact about yourself.
I’ve been white water rafting on 7 different rivers in North and Central America.

What’s your favorite thing about Ohio?
A perfect fall day with a cold Ohio made beer.

Which team is your favorite sports team? If there’s a fun reason why, tell us!
My Dad grew up during the Big Red Machine era of the Cincinnati Reds. Thus, I was taught for a young age that the Reds were the only proper baseball team to root for.

If you were a professional athlete what song would you choose to be your “walk out” song?
"Everything Is Alright" by Motion City Soundtrack

What TV show have you binge watched entirely too fast?
I think I’m on round 147 of viewing of The Office in its entirety.

If you were an Olympic athlete, what sport would you compete in?
Long distance running for out of shape dudes, that’s an event, right?

Most importantly, how can young Dems help in your campaign?
Columbus is a large city when it comes to running an effective campaign. As a former campaign hand myself, I love being out knocking on doors talking to voters. Would love for Young Dems to join me anytime on the doors.

Side note: We'll be blunt - campaigns cost money. Even if you're not on the ballot, the people running this November are going to have direct impact on your lives, so we're doing everything we can to make sure this impact starts with Young Dems. Can you chip in $5 to help us fund our campaign?
