Jen House is President of the Ohio Young Democrats. Jen is also the chair of the YDA State Presidents' Association. She has been active in Ohio politics for more than 10 years. She serves on the executive committees of the Franklin County and Ohio Democratic Parties. Jen works in PR and marketing for a large Ohio-based law firm and is a proud Miami University alumna. Prior to taking on the role of OYD President, Jen served for more than four years as the President of the Franklin County Young Democrats.
First Vice President
Chris Anderson is the Ohio Young Democrats' First Vice President. Chris has been active in politics for many years, serving in leadership roles in several organizations and working on many campaigns. He currently serves as the President of the Mahoning County Young Democrats as well as the Political Director for the Mahoning County Democratic Party. He is a lover of all things Youngstown, including being a Youngstown State University Alumni. Chris resides in Boardman with his wife Sarah and their two rescue dogs Wilbur and Claire.
Second Vice President
Bill Benner is the Ohio Young Democrats Second Vice President. In this role, he leads the OYD chapter building committee and is the primary contact for chapter building efforts. Before taking on his OYD role, Bill served several years as the president of the Lucas County Young Democrats. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University.
Alyssa serves as OYD's secretary. She has been involved in the Lorain County Young Democrats and OYD since 2013. She was also an Ohio delegate at the 2013 and 2017 Young Democrats of America Conventions. A proud Ohio University Bobcat, Alyssa was previously involved with the College Democrats, serving as Membership Director at OU and then as Vice President for the College Democrats of Ohio. She currently works as a Campaign Finance Assistant at McTigue & Colombo LLC.
Carrie Russell Hartman
Carrie Russell Hartman is the Ohio Young Democrats Treasurer. A graduate of Iowa State in 2006, carrie moved to Ohio and quickly became involved in local democratic politics. In 2014 she received her Juris Doctorate Degree from the Toledo College of Law, and currently works for the City of Toledo in the Mayor's office.
Mike Brill is the Ohio Young Democrats' Membership Secretary. In this role, he is responsible for maintaining the OYD membership lists and verifying chartering applications from new and existing chapters. Mike is also the President of the Greater Dayton Area Young Democrats. Mike is proud graduate of the University of Dayton and is a former President of the College Democrats of Ohio. He currently works for the the Montgomery County Auditor.
Dontavius is the Ohio Young Democrats National Committeeman. In this role, he represents OYD on the Young Democrats of America National Committee. Dontavius is also the president of the Ohio Young Black Democrats. Dontavius works at non-profit focused on behavioral health issues. He is a graduate of Hiram University.
Bridgette is the Ohio Young Democrats National Committeewoman. In this role, she represents OYD on the Young Democrats of America (YDA) National Committee. Bridgette is also on the YDA leadership team, serving as chief of staff. Bridgette works as a political fundraising consultant. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University.
Sergeant at Arms
Jimmy Calhoun is the Ohio Young Democrats Sergeant at Arms. He is an active member of the Montgomery County Young Dems and is the President of the South Dayton Democrats. Jimmy is also a member of the Montgomery County Democratic Party. Jimmy Attended undergrad at Miami University and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of law. He is currently an associate at Flanagan, Lieberman, Hoffman and Swaim in Dayton Ohio.
Christopher Clevenger is the Ohio Young Democrats' Communications Director. He has held this role for the past three years. He is also the President of the Portage County Young Democrats. A graduate of Kent State University, Christopher also currently serves as the Great Lakes Region Director for the Young Democrats of America.
Digital Communications Director
Sam Miller is the Digital Communications Director of the Ohio Young Democrats. She is incredibly active in the Athens County Democratic Party and serves on their executive committee. Most recently Sam ended her term as Vice President of College Democrats of Ohio and previously she served as the 2016-2017 President of Ohio University College Democrats. In 2018, Sam received her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.
Kelly Harrop is the Ohio Young Democrats' Political Director. Prior to this role, Kelly served as Political Director for College Democrats of Ohio. Throughout her time in college Kelly was active and held leadership positions in several local campaigns. In 2016, she was elected to represent Ohio's 12th congressional district at the DNC, serving as a delegate for Hillary Clinton. She is now working as a Legislative Aide in the Ohio Statehouse and is a proud alumna of The Ohio State University.
Tadd Pinkston is the Ohio Young Democrats’ Parliamentarian. He is responsible for ensuring that OYD implements and maintains parliamentary procedure. Tadd is the Treasurer of the Cuyahoga County Democrats and is also a member of the Cuyahoga Democratic Party's Executive Committee. After graduating from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Tadd opened his own law firm through the Akron Bar Association's Incubator Program. Recently, Tadd joined the Lake County Public Defender's Office.
Issue Advocacy Co-Chair
Priyam Chokshi is one of the Ohio Young Democrats’ Issue Advocacy Co-Chairs. Currently, Priyam serves as the Director of Community and Legislative Strategies for CelebrateOne, a place-based, collective-impact initiative in the Mayor Ginther’s Office to reduce infant mortality rate and improve health equity in Columbus and Franklin County. Before devoting her work full-time to Celebrate One, Priyam served as a policy advisor to Mayor Andrew J. Ginther and worked to create Kiva Columbus, the Columbus Women’s Commission and engaged in social and economic programs and policies to improve the lives of residents in the City of Columbus.
Issue Advocacy Co-Chair
Nadia Jeelani is one of the Ohio Young Democrats’ Issue Advocacy Co-Chairs. She is an upcoming High School senior and a relative newbie in politics. She was recently elected as the Vice President of Clermont County Young Democrats. Nadia is also a fellow with the Ohio Democratic Party and Richard Perry for Clermont County Commissioner’s campaign manager. In addition, Nadia writes for her local newspaper.
Issue Advocacy Co-Chair
Mariah Ross is one of the Ohio Young Democrats’ Issue Advocacy Co-Chairs. She is currently a junior at Cleveland State University and is studying Political Science and Economics. She also serves on the YDA Finance Committee as the secretary. Mariah has been involved with politics since she was 15 and has interned for Senator Brown as well Bernie's campaign and the Ohio Democratic Party. She also served as campaign manager for a city council campaign. She has a passion for international affairs, education policy and equal rights.
Fintan Bracken is one of the Ohio Young Democrats’ Constituency Co-Chairs. He has been involved in organizing the Never Again Student Movement at Mentor High School. Fintan has worked as a Fellow with the Lake County Democrats. Fintan is a student at Mentor High School and resident of Mentor. Fintan is also involved in his school’s theatre, Model United Nations, and Show Choir programs.
Jeniece Brock is one of the Ohio Young Democrats’ Constituency Co-Chairs. She was the first African-American woman elected as President of the Summit County Young Democrats where she served two terms. Jeniece is an active member of the Summit County Democratic Party, Summit County Progressive Democrats, & the Federated Democratic Women of Summit County. She attended undergrad at Bowling Green State University, and received a Masters in Health Sciences with a concentration in Public Health & Healthcare Administration from Cleveland State University. Currently,Jeniece resides in Akron, Ohio as a student in the NEOMED-CSU Urban Health MD program.
Andy Price is one of the Ohio Young Democrats’ Constituency Co-Chairs. A recent graduate of Ohio University, Andy served as the Communications Director of the OU College Democrats from 2015 to 2017, and was a member of the Athens County Democratic Central Committee. In addition, he interned for several Ohio campaigns, including Ted Strickland’s senate campaign in 2016 and Ed FitzGerald’s gubernatorial campaign in 2014. Currently he has been involved with the Zach Space campaign and is active with the Franklin County Young Democrats. He is a member of the Ohio Army National Guard, serving as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Engineer Branch.
Deputy Communications Director
Hannah Jones is one of the Ohio Young Democrats’ Deputy Communications Directors. She currently attends The Ohio State University, majoring in Social Work with a minor in Human Rights and is Pre-Law. She serves on the executive board for OSU’s chapter of Platform as National Representative and Social Media Coordinator, which trains college students to lobby for women’s rights. She is also a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, which has empowered her to build and support strong women.
Deputy Communications Director
Dylan Cox is one of the Ohio Young Democrats’ Deputy Communications Directors. A recent graduate of Highland High School in Medina County, Dylan served as Vice President of Highland's High School Democrats of America chapter. As VP, Dylan led chapter building efforts, community outreach, and event organization within the county. Dylan is currently a Field Operations Intern for Ken Harbaugh's congressional campaign.
Deputy Digital Communications Director
Serena Ishwar is one of the Ohio Young Democrats’ Deputy Digital Communications Directors. She is also the Vice President of the Delaware County Young Democrats. She is a current student of Ohio State University where she is studying Political Science and is on a Pre-Law track.
Brandon Edwards is the Ohio Young Democrats' Deputy Parliamentarian. A native of Westerville, Brandon previously was elected to the Delaware County Democratic Party Central Committee and is an active member of the Franklin County Young Democrats, where he serves on the candidate screening committee. Brandon works in the office of Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein as an assistant prosecutor, with previous experience serving Judge Ted Barrows of the Franklin County Municipal Court and with the Franklin County Public Defender. Brandon is a graduate of The Ohio State University and Capital University Law School.
