Ohio’s 2020 Democratic Primary Extended until April 28th

What You Need to Know!

After a bunch of confusion and misinformation spread around, a lot of people are confused.  It' was hard to keep up and figure out what was accurate. However, the legislature took action and legislation that extended the primary was signed by the governor last week.

Below are the facts and information on how to vote if you were planning to vote in person on Election Day in Ohio’s St. Patrick’s Day.

Top Three Things to Know About the 2020 Ohio Primary:

  1. The 2020 Ohio Democratic Primary has been extended through April 28th.
  2. To conclude the primary and also protect Ohioans from COVID-19, there will not be an in-person Election Day or any more in-person “early” voting (unless you have a disability). You MUST vote by mail (details below).
  3.  If you have already voted early for the March 17 primary, your vote will be counted and there is nothing else that you need to do.

How to Vote in the Extended Mail Primary:

Request your absentee ballot though your county board of elections (BOE). The form is available here You must download, print, and mail in the application to your county BOE. You can find the address and contact information for all the BOEs in Ohio here.  NOTE: If you don’t have a printer, contact your BOE and ask them to send you an absentee ballot request form.

You must submit your request to the BOE no later than April 25, 2020.  But there’s no reason to wait to do this. Send it in ASAP.

When you receive your ballot in the mail, fill it out (Consider voting for one of our endorsed candidates if you can, a listing of all of them is included below). Be sure to sign it and to complete the portion where you need to supply your DL number or the last 4 of your SS number.

Your ballot must be POSTMARKED no later than April 27, 2020 (or returned it in person to your BOE by April 28, 2020 at 7:30pm).

Then be sure to wear you sticker all around the house. Take a seflie with it. Be proud that you voted and encourage others to do so.
