Why are you running?

I am running because I want to see more strong women in elected office. I was raised by two strong women: my mother and my grandmother. Both of these women worked in service to others while raising children. They taught me the value of hard work and how to get things done. I took this work ethic into my own career working to protect Ohio’s families.  Less than 2 years ago, I helped secure a landmark bill to better protect Ohioans drinking water from lead contamination. I want to bring this same energy and hard work to Grandview Heights city council.

What are the most important issues on your campaign?

Protecting kids and seniors and investing in families: I will tackle problems that put our children’s and seniors’ safety and well-being at risk by sponsoring a common sense ordinance to test our drinking water fountains for lead and by implementing traffic calming measures on streets that need it.

Promoting vibrant neighborhood gathering places: One of the first projects I will tackle as a city council member will be to work with other community leaders to expand our farmers market into a vibrant community gathering place. This will support local farmers and entrepreneurs while providing healthy food for families and revenue for our businesses.

Protecting Grandview’s beauty and history for future generations: We are witnessing growth right now in our community with the Grandview Yard and other development plans. As a council member, I will push for our city leaders to undertake a community strategic planning process. This will ensure that our economic growth and development fits within our long-term vision for the community.
